Judiciary holds off NHA for third win

MANILA, Philippines - Former PBA player Don Camaso drilled in nine of his team-high 27 points in the fourth quarter as Judiciary repulsed National Housing Authority, 100-96, to stay unbeaten in the third UNTV Cup at the University of Makati gym recently.

Camaso actually combined with model-actor John Hall in that big late Judiciary rally as the Magis overcame a 71-75 deficit in the third period to clinch the win, their third straight for the lead in Group B of the two-division tournament presented by UNTV through the initiative of multi-titled broadcaster Daniel Razon.

NHA fell to 0-3.

Ariel Capus, another former PBA player, had only three points in the fourth but finished with 20 points on an impressive 8-of-9 shooting from the field.

For the second time, Camaso finished in double-double as he also grabbed 15 boards, 13 of them defensively. Hall also matched that feat with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

In other games, defending champion Armed Forces of the Philippines rebounded from a shock loss to Judiciary by downing Metro Manila Development Authority, 85-81, for a 2-1 mark, while the Department of Justice finally notched its first win in three games by beating House of Representatives, 110-88, in Group A action.
