MANILA, Philippines - Comebacking Brandon Vera seeks redemption as he slugs it out with Igor Subora in one of the featured fights in the ONE Fighting Championship: Warriors Way set today at the MOA Arena in Pasay City.

At the height of the mixed martial arts career in 2006, Vera swept his first eight bouts in impressive fashion, including a TKO victory over former heavyweight champion Frank Mir in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. But injuries slowed down the Fil-Am fighter, who faded out of the UFC scene.

But given another chance, Vera has vowed to go all out for a victory in the ONE FC.

“I don’t look at in the past because I’m more focused at what I can do in the present and what I will have to in my future,” said Vera.

Fighting before Filipino fans, he said, is an added motivation.

“I’m excited to fight here in the Philippines for the first time and it gives me more inspiration to win,” said Vera.

Five more local fighters are seeing action in the event, including former women’s boxing champion Ana Julaton, who will be seeking to come up with a follow-up to her TKO win over Aya Saeid Saber last May against Walaa Abas.

Other Filipinos in the explosive fightcard are Eduard Folayang, a product of the Universal Reality Combat Championship of Alvin Aguilar, who will battle Timofey Nastyukhin; Honorio Banario who will take on Herbert Burns; Kevin Belingon who will square it off with Koetsu Okazaki; and Rene Catalan, who will be taking on Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke.
