Tubod to host SMB-NLEX showdown

MANILA, Philippines - The Mindanao Civic Center will host a PBA match when San Miguel Beer and newcomer NLEX clash in a road game on Nov. 8 in Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

The 5,000-capacity MCC gym has regularly hosted PBA road games with the upcoming matchup expected to generate so much interest and a packed crowd.

PBA commissioner Chito Salud himself described the MCC gymnasium as the “Home of PBA in Mindanao” owing to its state-of-the-art facilities that complements and enhances the exciting and fast-paced games of the pro league.

Lanao del Norte, in fact, is the only basketball venue outside of Metro Manila to ever host a PBA finals game.

Tickets for the SMB-NLEX match are now available at the Provincial Treasurer’s Office of the Provincial Capitol Building in Tubod town and at the main gate of MCC sports complex during game day.

Meanwhile, Pagadian City’s Bryco Maglasang clocked 52.265 seconds to top 19 other racers from all over Mindanao in the Gov. Khalid Dimaporo Autocross competition at the sprawling Agora area, Barangay Sagadan in Tubod.

The event was organized by the LGU of this progressive province in cooperation with Inter-Mindanao Autocross Series (IMACS) of Iligan City.

“We are happy to host this exciting motorsport here in Lanao del Norte and hope to see more racers join us in our future autocross competitions,” said Gov. Dimaporo.
