Subia rules SBLGC tiff

MANILA, Philippines - Glen Subia turned to his superb putting to score a net 60 and capture the overall championship in the 2014 Inaugural Golf Tournament of the San Beda Law Golf Club Inc. at the Eagle Ridge Golf and Country Club.

Sharing equal spotlight was Gary de Guzman, who bucked the hot weather with crisp shot-making at Eagle Ridge’s tricky Aoki course, finishing with a three-over 75 for the low gross  title.

Edgar Paddayuman ran away with the Class A crown with a 63 as he escaped with a one-stroke victory off Louie Bugayong in the event sponsored by Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and Sherwood/Suntrust c/o The Bedan Igorot.

Paddayuman also recorded the longest drive on the third hole (315 yards).  Fred Lim’s drive on the par3 17th at 6 feet netted him the nearest to the pin while sponsor Rex Goquingco of ICTSI had the most accurate drive at No. 11.

Nor Guanlao wound up with a 61 to top Class B  in the event, which introduced the new set of SBLGC officers headed by Xerxes Cortel.

Rolly Sison ruled Class C with 68.

Jonnel Estomo (70), Elpidio Pagador (69) and Sonny Tan (70) took the Classes A, B, C trophies in the guests’ division.
