Ang sweeps KF karting leg for perfect 70

MANILA, Philippines - Fast-rising Jacob Ang of Eagle Cement continued to prove his potentials as a champion material when he dominated the junior division recently in the second leg of the 2014 Petron Blaze 100 KF Karting Super Series at the Carmona Racetrack.

Ang displayed marked improvement as he swept the KF Junior Blaze 100 class with a perfect 70 points to seize solo leadership in this event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by Petron, Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4, Petron XCS, Petron Ultron, Petron Xtra, Petron Sprint and Yokohama.

He now holds 129 points with ART Grand Prix junior driver Gabe Cabrera in second with 117 points and Tai Zulberti at third with 88.

The KF3 engine proved to be more suitable for Ang who felt more at ease driving near-flawlessly throughout. Posting the fastest laptime of 44.177 seconds, he dictated the tempo throughout the 15-lap Race 3 which he wrapped up in 11 minutes, 7.160 seconds or 6.907 seconds ahead of runner-up Cabrera with Tai Zulberti checking in third.

Ang reasserted his mastery in Race 4 where he claimed the checkered flag 3.753 seconds ahead of Cabrera.

Sharing the limelight was Flynn Jackes who emerged the Mini-ROK XCS champion over Eduardo Coseteng Jr. and Mikey Jordan.

Dylan Arambulo of Tough Gear Racing ended fourth while Tan Jun Wei Ethan of the Singapore Drakar Racing Team made it fifth.
