Amit joins Elite Asia in inaugural Queen’s Cup

MANILA, Philippines - Former world 10-ball champion Rubilen Amit has been selected into the elite Team Asia in the inaugural Queens Cup – a 10-ball event pitting the best of Asia against their western counzterparts in Europe and the US – on Nov. 5-7 at Resorts World Manila.

Amit will join Asia captain Ga Young Kim of South Korea as they slug it out with the powerhouse Team West led by skipper Kelly Fisher of England and Austria’s Jasmin Ouschan. Two more players on each squad will be named in the next few weeks.

The East vs West pool showdown is produced by Dragon Promotions with the Min Table of Korea as the event’s official table to be used during all televised matches.

“When I first heard about the Queens Cup, my first thought was ‘genius’. I loved the idea of having a Ryder Cup type of tournament for women. Surely, this is going to be an exciting event to look forward to for everyone,” said Amit, a gold, silver and bronze medalist in World Championship history.

The duel will be played in a 10-Ball format with the first team to reach 10 matches clinching the crown. Format includes singles, doubles, triples, and 4-on-4. Captains of each team will be put to the test to create the best strategy in partnerships and chemistry of match-ups. If the matches go 9 to 9 hill-hill, a final 4-on-4 play will settle the championship.
