Express eye big men in trade deal

MANILA, Philippines - Air21, out to beef up its roster for the coming PBA Philippine Cup, submitted two separate trade proposals yesterday, one involving Petron and the other Brgy. Ginebra San Miguel that will be up for approval by the PBA commissioner today.

The Express have offered Maggie Sison, Paolo Hubalde and their 2014 second round pick in exchange for the Blaze Boosters’ two big men in Noy Baclao and Rob Reyes.

In the other offer, Air21 is sending Elmer Espiritu and its 2013 first round draft pick to the Gin Kings for KG Canaleta and John Wilson.

Both proposals could be approved, rejected or revised by league commissioner Chito Salud when they hold a meeting today.

“It will be decided upon by the commissioner today,” said Willie Marcial, the special assistant to the PBA chief yesterday.

There were also reports that the Express want to acquire Leo Najorda from Barako Bull in exchange for former Ateneo standout Eric Salamat, who started out his career with Alaska Milk.
