MANILA, Philippines - Lawrence Celestino seeks a second straight crown in the Under 21 years division in the Faldo Series Philippines Championship which starts today at the Tat Filipinas Golf Club course in San Pedro, Laguna.
Celestino leads a cast of 60 junior players vying for the titles in three different age-group divisions for both boys and girls in a 54-hole qualifying that picks the country’s representatives to the Faldo Series final.
Also on tap in the tourney serving as a regular leg of the ICTSI Jungolf Summer Circuit are events in the Under 18 and Under 16 divisions.
The ICTSI Jungolf Circuit is backed by Pancake House Group, Terriyaki Boy, Sizzling Pepper, Chevrolet, PAL, Pisanti, Golf Depot, Pacsports, Livescoresph, Duty Free, Coca-Cola, San Miguel Beer, Friends of Jungolf and McDonald’s.
Also vying for slots are Miggy Yee, Princess Superal and Mia Legapsi who all topped their respective divisions in the recent qualifying for the Junior World team in San Diego, California.
Aside from the competitions, there will a rules clinic to be conducted by Jack Imperial, executive director of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines.
