MANILA, Philippines - A big anniversary four-cock derby, featuring entries coming from leading cock breeders will be held tonight at the Elorde Cockpit Stadium in Sucat Road, Parañaque.
Promoted by sportsman Johnny Elorde, the derby, now on its 17th year, has a guaranteed prize of P300,000 with pot money at P11,000. The handler and the gaffer of the winning entry will receive P20,000 and P10,000, respectively, with the minimum bet at P5,500. Weight limit is from 1.8 to 24 kgs.
More than 50 entries have signified their intention to join. Among them are Atty. Astorga, Mayor Nene Aguilar, Alex Tobias, Atty. Asoy, Benjie Lim, Herrera Bros., Wolverine, Howard LPC, Digmaan LPC, Not Not Cuneta, Pilo, Aglo Martinez, Col. Katigbak Batangas, Kapitan Momo, Dr. Milo, and Jecksy Calamba.
