NCR, Luzon pace Milo Little Olympics

MANILA, Philippines - The NCR and Luzon bets dominated athletics, taekwondo, swimming and volleyball to seize control in the early going of the first National Milo Little Olympics in Cebu City.

Posting a 9-4-2 medal tally, NCR zoomed into the lead in the elementary level with 40 points. Luzon took second spot with 27 points while Visayas had 23 points.

Luzon, however, took charge in the secondary division with 40 points followed by Mindanao with 25 points and Visayas with 23 points. 

Rocena Chua of Dr. Jose P. Rizal Elementary School in Dasmariñas, Cavite won the gold medal in the 100-m hurdles girls division while Ivan Castañeda of host Cebu topped the high school boys long jump.

Other events on tap are badminton, chess, football, gymnastics, lawn tennis, scrabble, sepak takraw and table tennis.
