Lee, Yang lead Forest Hills Chair Cup winners

Sang Young Lee came through with 42 points under the Stableford scoring system to beat Larry Patnongon‘s 39-point output and capture the Class A honors in Chairman’s Cup at the Forest Hills Golf and Country Club in Cogeo, Antipolo over the weekend.

Chang Guk Yang and Stewart Go wound up with identical 41 points but the former won in the countback, scoring 20 points in the last nine holes and winning by one point for the Class B crown.

Other winners in the two-day event, held in honor of Forest Hills chairman of the board Atty. Ferdinand Santos and sponsored by Golforce, Inc. and Rudy Project, were Allan Yap, Jovito Hizon, Daniel Go, Catherine Fong and Jimmy Kho.

Yap topped Class C with 47 points, defeating Simplicio Caleon, who had a 39; Hizon ruled Class D with 42 points for a four-point win over Won Gu Kim (38); Go edged Philip Ang, 49-48, to pocket the Class C title; Fong copped the ladies crown with 41 points and a one-point victory over Susan Ng (40); while Kho edged Shean Bedi in the countback, 19-18, after both finished with 36 points each.

A total of 241 participants took part in the seventh staging of the event with Ruben Tuazon winning the Panasonic 42" Plasma TV with Pioneer Home Theatre.

Other fun hole winners were Edmund Hao (No. 7), Jimmy Tanjangco (No. 15), Won Jung Yun (No. 4), Nelson Ng (No. 13), Sonny Bitong (No. 4), Caleon (Nos. 7 and 13), Michael Lee (No. 15), all nearest to the pin; Mi Hee Kwak and Marichi Ojeda (longest drive, ladies); Chun Wang Song and Rene Datu (longest drive, men) and Winston Lao and Robert Velez (most accurate drive).

The other backers of the event were the Hsin Enterprises, Phils. Corp., Primerpower Manpower Services, Group Management and Dev’t., Inc., Primal Enterprises Corp., Hizon Laboratories, Gruppo Armani, Metro Rail Transit Corp., Camp John Hay Dev‘t. Corp., Philippine Airlines, Bagaberde Grill and Restaurant and EDSA Shangri-La Hotel.
