Aguilar off to FIM-Asia S’cross

Five-time Rider of the Year Glenn Aguilar of Caltex-Revtex leaves today for Thailand to compete in the FIM-Asia Supercross 2000 slated Sunday at the tough Nakhonchaisti Circuit.

Aguilar will be competing in the premiere Asian International division against the best riders from China, Indonesia, Australia, Japan, Korea and host Thailand in this event sanctioned by the world governing Federacion International de Motocycliste (FIM).

The Nakhonchaisti Circuit is the most technically-designed track in the Asian Supercross Series but Aguilar is confident of his chances.

"First time kong tatakbo sa track na ito pero medyo kabisado ko na rin yung mga kalaban dahil sila rin yung nakaharap ko noon sa Japan. They are all very competitive, but we’ll try our best against them," said Aguilar who’s primed up as the top awardee for the NAMSSA Year-end Excellence awards for motocross.

Caltex-Revtex is all-out in its support to Aguilar with high hopes that a Filipino motocross rider will make it big in the international scene.
