ZAMBALES ,Philippines —Nagkasundong magtutulungan ang Zambales provincial government at ang Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) upang isulong at pasiglahin ang economic competitiveness ng nabanggit na probinsya at Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
Ang kasunduan ay nabuo matapos magharap sina Zambales Governor Hermogenes E. Ebdane, Jr. at in-coming SBMA Chairman Roberto V. Garcia sa tahanan ng gobernador sa Barangay Sinabacan sa bayan ng Candelaria, Zambales noong Sabado.
Si Garcia na appointed ni President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III ay magiging kapalit ni SBMA Chairman Feliciano Salonga.
May mga lugar sa Zambales tulad ng Anawangin at Silangin coves na alok ni Garcia na maaaring mapagtulungan upang i-promote ang turismo ng lalawigan.
“We can plan together for this initiative,” pahayag ng SBMA chairman.
Nangako naman si Ebdane ng susuportahan ng pamahalaang panlalawigan ang mga programa ng SBMA para sa community development.
“But we have to do it right. There is always the social factor to consider. And if there’s going to be some negative effect on, say, the livelihood of some sectors, then we have to rethink our projects,” dagdag pa ni Ebdane.
