MANILA, Philippines — Nagsagawa kahapon ang Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) ng special jobs fair para sa may 250 job seekers na biktima ng large-scale illegal recruitment.

Kasunod ito sa direktiba ni Migrant Workers Secretary Susan Ople bilang tulong sa mga biktima ng illegal recruitment at upang mabigyan na rin sila ng libreng legal assistance laban sa kanilang illegal recruiter.

Ayon sa DMW, 17 lisensyadong recruitment agencies ang nakibahagi sa jobs fair na ginanap sa ground floor ng POEA Ople Building sa Mandaluyong City.

Ang jobs fair ay nag-aalok ng mga aprubadong job order para sa mga clea­ners, karpintero, kasambahay, kitchen and restaurant workers, hairdressera para sa New Zealand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, at Japan.

 “There were 757 who applied, and out of the 757 applications, 121 were deemed qualified, 607 were scheduled for further interview, and one was hired on the spot,”  ani Ople.
