Ayon kay National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Acting Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Karl Kendrick Chua, nakita sa pinakabagong pagtataya na papalo ang poverty incidence rate sa 15.5-17.5 percent sa susunod na taon.

MANILA, Philippines — Dahil sa kinakaharap na pandemya ay mas darami pa ang mga Pilipinong maghihirap at mawawalan ng trabaho hanggang sa 2021.

Ayon kay National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Acting Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Karl Kendrick Chua, nakita sa pinakabagong pagtataya na papalo ang poverty incidence rate sa 15.5-17.5 percent sa susunod na taon.

“The COVID pande­mic, the quarantines are largely affecting the urban areas, we are fortunate to note that in the rural areas, in agriculture, COVID is not threatening their livelihood,” lahad pa nito.

Sa pahayag pa ni Chua, lalong tataas ito kung hindi aaksyunan ng gobyerno.

“A significant number of jobs came back the moment we relaxed (qua­rantine rules).”

“The results in just one quarter show that the impact can be big if we loosen up our restrictions as safely as possible,” dagdag pa ni Chua.
