Quarantine breach ni Pimentel muling binuksan ng DOJ
MANILA, Philippines — Muling binuksan ng Department of Justice (DOJ) ang paunang imbestigasyon ukol sa hinaing reklamo laban kay Senator Aquilino Pimentel III sa umano’y paglabag sa quarantine protocols.
Nagsumite ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa utos ni Assistant State Prosecutor Wendell Bendoval ng muling pagbubukas ng imbestigasyon.
Ayon kay Bendoval nagsumite ang kanilang ahensya ng memorandum upang magkaroon sila ng sariling imbestigasyon sa insidente kalakip nito ang isang kopya ng incident reports mula kay Makati Medical Center Director Saturnino Javier.
“We assure everyone that the justice department will apply the law fairly and uniformly, regardless of the status of the respondent, with due respect at all times to the rights of the respondent,” giit ni Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra.
Sa pagbubukas ng kaso, inatasan ni Bendoval sina Lawyer Rico Quicho at Pimentel na maghain ng kanilang komento ukol NBI memorandum hanggang Setyembre 21.
Matatandaang naghain ng reklamo si Quicho laban kay Pimentel sa paglabag sa Republic Act No. 11332 matapos makisalamuha sa publiko habang ito ay nasa quarantine period at kalauna’y nakumpirmang positibo sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
