MANILA, Philippines — Ikinukunsidera ni Floyd Mayweather, Jr. na isa na siyang retiradong boksingero at wala nang balak na umakyat ng boxing ring para lumaban.

Kaya naman pinayuhan ni Mayweather Promotions Chief Executive Officer Leonard Ellerbe si Manny Pacquiao na itigil na ang paghahamon sa kanyang bossing.

“I’m sure that anyone would want to negotiate with Floyd Mayweather, but again Floyd Mayweather is retired,” wika ni Ellerbe sa panayam ng ESPN Deportes.

Matapos ang unanimous decision win laban kay American challenger Adrien Broner noong Linggo sa MGM Grand ay hinamon ng 40-anyos na si Pacquiao ang 42-anyos na si Mayweather sa isang rematch.

Tinalo ni Mayweather (50-0-0, 27 KOs) si Pacquiao (61-7-2, 38 KOs) via unanimous decision sa kanilang super fight noong Mayo ng 2015.

Ayon kay Ellerbe, mas mabuting maghanap na lamang ang Filipino world eight-division champion ng ibang makakalaban kesa kulitin si Mayweather.

“There is a number of excellent fighters that Manny Pacquiao can fight in the welterweight division. He’s shown that he is still an elite fighter,” ani Ellerbe. “There is Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia, Errol Spence, even Mikey Garcia who is fighting Errol in a welterweight clash in March, and Shawn Porter.

“The welterweight division is thriving, there are a number of great fighters, so Manny Pacquiao has unlimited options,” dagdag pa nito.

Huling nakita sa aksyon si Mayweather noong Disyembre 31 matapos talunin si Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukaw sa isang exhibition match sa Tokyo.
