MANILA, Philippines - Pupuntiryahin ng Radio Active na makamit ang second leg ng Philippine Racing Commission’s Triple Crown Series bukas sa Metro Manila Turf Club Inc. sa Malvar, Batangas.

Unang inangkin ng Radio Active ang first leg sa pamamagitan ng seven-length win sa hanay ng mga elite three-year-olds.

Ang panalo ay nagkakahalaga ng P1.8 milyon para sa horse owner na SC Stockfarm Inc., ibinulsa din ang P100,000 breeder’s purse dahil sa tagumpay ng Radio Active na anak ng US-breds na Lim Expensive Toys at Lacquaria.

Hangad ng kabayong sinanay ni Nestor Manalang na maduplika ang ginawa ng Kid Molave, naipanalo ang tatlong legs ng serye noong 2014.

Noong nakaraang taon ay nagkampeon ang Superv (first leg), Court of Honor (second leg) at Miss Brulay (third leg).

Makakasukatan ng Radio Active sa second leg ang Dewey Boulevard ni Hermie Esguerra, Guatemala ni Felizardo Sevilla Jr., He He He ni Ferdinand Eusebio, Indianpana ng Deemark International Trading, Specturm ni Narcico Morales, Subterranean River Filly ni Wilbert Tan at coupled entry na Underwood at Space Needle ng Stony Road.

Kabuuang P3 milyong premyo ang nakalatag para sa karerang gagawin sa distansyang 1,800 meters kung saan ang P1.8 milyon ay makukuha ng champion horse at P675,000 para sa runner-up.

Ang third at fourth placers ay tatanggap ng P375,000 at P150,000, ayon sa pagkakasunod.

Ang nasabing three-leg series ay halaw sa Triple Crown ng US na binubuo ng Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes at Belmont Stakes.

Ang Triple Crown series ay inilunsad noong 1978 at inangkin ng Native Gift ang first at second legs, habang ang Majority Rule ang nagwagi sa third leg.

May 10 kabayo lamang ang tinanghal na Triple Crown champions na kinabibilangan ng Fair and Square noong 1981, Skywalker (1983), Time Master (1987), Magic Showtime (1988), Sun Dancer (1989), Strong Material (1996), Real Top (1998), Silver Story (2001), Hagdang Bato (2012) at Kid Molave (2014).

“Historically, the Triple Crown is one of the most-attended racing events in the country and Saturday’s edition will be no different,” sabi ni Philracom Chairman Andrew A. Sanchez. “It will be another day of excitement at the racetrack.”
