MANILA, Philippines — Sa nakaraang 55th All-Japan Seniors Championship ay kumolekta si Pinoy gymnast Caloy Yulo ng isang gold medal sa men’s floor exercise, isang silver sa team event at isang bronze sa vault.
Ngunit muntik nang magkaroon ng malubhang injury si Yulo sa nasabing torneo.
Sa isang serye ng 360-degree revolutions ay lumagapak siya una ang mukha nang hindi makakapit sa horizontal rod matapos mag-somersault.
Ayon kay Yulo, lalo lamang siyang mag-eensayo nang husto para hindi na ito maulit sa mga sasalihan niyang mga international competitions kagaya ng 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship sa Oktubre 29 hanggang Nobyembre 6 sa Liverpool, United Kingdom.
“These kind of things makes me want to improve and grow even more. It’s funny because Gymnastics is not always fun and it’s not always about winning in the competition,” wika ng two-time world gymnastics champion.
“It’s all about standing up after that fall. To give your all till the dismount, to not give up on what you love, to search for ways to improve and to not lose to yourself in every day training. I mean this is definitely not easy but this is my lifestyle,” dagdag nito.
Bibiyahe ang three-time Asian Championships winner sa Paris para sa isang training camp bago dumiretso sa Liverpool para sa World Championship.
Muling pupuntiryahin ni Yulo ang medalya sa 2024 Olympic Games sa Paris, France matapos malasin sa Tokyo edition noong nakaraang taon.
