MANILA, Philippines — Magiging malaking tulong sa Philippine Sports Commission sakaling maging batas ang isinusulong na National Academy for Sports para sa kanilang pagkakaroon ng national sustainable sports program.
Niratipikahan ng dalawang kapulungan ang bicameral conference committee report na naghahangad maitatag ang NAS na mag-aangat sa grassroots development program ng bansa.
“The PSC Board is unanimous in saying that this is a welcome development,” wika ni PSC chairman William ‘Butch’ Ramirez. “Anything that supports the development of sports in the country is a great boost to the country’s efforts to build a deeper grassroots sports program which feed our elite sports programs.”
Sa ilalim ng NAS ay madaling matutukoy ng PSC ang kahusayan ng mga batang atleta sa kani-kanilang mga sports na magiging bahagi ng educational system.
Kabilang sa mga grassroots sports development program ng PSC ay ang taunang Batang Pinoy at Philippine National Games.
