June Mar ‘di malala ang injury

MANILA, Philippines – Konting pahinga lamang ang kailangan ni June Mar Fajardo para mu­ling pangunahan ang hangad na back-to-back PBA Philippine Cup crown ng San Miguel.

Base sa initial findings sa kaliwang tuhod ni Fajar­do, walang nakitang punit sa kanyang ACL at MCL (ligaments) kaya maa­aring maglaro ang 6-foot-10  Cebuano superstar sa pagsagupa ng Beermen sa karibal na Alaska Aces sa Game 3 ng kanilang titular showdwon.

“We are confident that he will be ok for the series,” sabi ni San Miguel team manager Gee Abanilla sa isang statement tungkol sa kondisyon ng back-to-back PBA Most Valuable Player na si Fajardo.

Nagkaroon ng knee injury si Fajardo nang ma­kapuwestuhan si 6’0 guard Jireh Ibañes ng Rain or Shine sa Game Six ng kanilang semifinals wars noong Biyernes.

Nang hindi makatayo ay isinakay si Fajardo sa isang stretcher at dinala sa St. Luke’s Medical City sa Bonifacio Global City at sumailalim sa MRI.

Ang resulta ng nasabing MRI ay ilalabas bukas.

Humingi naman ng paumanhin si Ibañes dahil sa nangyari kay Fajardo.

“Hopefully, it won’t be that serious, hopefully he can play in the finals. I wish them well, and I pray for a quick recovery,” wika ng 10-year PBA veteran kay Fa­jardo.
