MANILA, Philippines - Kung matuloy man ang kanilang upakan ni Manny Pacquiao sa susunod na taon ay hindi siya makikipagsabayan sa Filipino world eight-division champion.
Sinabi ni Mayweather sa panayam ng FightHype.com na mas matalino siya kesa kay Pacquiao pagdating sa boxing.
“Even though I know I’m bigger and I’m stronger than him, and I’m smarter than him, we don’t believe in taking no punishment,” ani Mayweather.
“The cool thing about Floyd Mayweather’s career is I was able to dish out punishment, not take punishment, make a lot of money, and have all my faculties. That’s the cool thing about my career,” dagdag pa nito.
Sa isang panayam ay sinabi ni Pacquiao na nakakaantok ang lahat ng laban ni Mayweather at sa oras na maikasa ang kanilang laban ay hahamunin niya itong makipagsabayan sa kanya.
Ngunit naniniwala si Mayweather na hindi ‘boring’ ang kanyang mga laban at bagkus ay isa itong ‘art’.
“I mean, it’s an art, and last time I checked, I’m an artist and I paint a beautiful picture,” wika ni Mayweather. “A bloody mouth, a bloody nose, cut lip, broken ribs--that’s not beautiful on me.”
Kinuwestiyon rin ng American world five-division ttilist ang sinseridad ni ‘Pacman’ na labanan siya.
“It’s so crazy that once he sees that I said I do want the fight to happen and let’s make the fight happen, now he wants to say that Mayweather won’t stand there and slug with me,” wika ni Mayweather.
“It’s obvious he must know he’s not going to win.He feels that in his heart,” dagdag pa ng American fighter.
Samantala, sinabi kahapon ni Bob Arum na umaasa siyang tuluyan nang maitatakda sa susunod na taon ang sagupaan nina Mayweather at Pacquiao.
“While there’s life, there’s hope,” wika ni Arum sa panayam ng New York Daily News.“As far as the Pacquiao side is concerned, we want to make this thing happen. As far as the Mayweather side, we’re still talking.”
