MANILA, Philippines — Handa na ang lokal na pamahalaan ng Quezon City na mabakunahan ang mga kabataang may edad 5 hanggang 11- anyos kung bibigyan na ng go signal ng pamahalaan bilang bahagi nang pagpapalakas sa vaccination program sa lungsod.
Ito ay inanunsyo ng QC LGU bilang reaksyon sa pag- apruba ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) para sa Emergency Use Authorization ng Pfizer BioNTech vaccine sa naturang mga minors.
Sinabi ni Dr. Maria Lourdes Eleria, coordinator ng QC Task Force Vax to Normal na patuloy silang nakikipag-ugnayan sa mga barangay, mga pribado at pampublikong paaralan para magkaroon ng master list ng lahat ng kabataan na may edad 5 hanggang 11 -anyos.
“We are now synchronizing the list of children enrolled in our schools and those included in the census of our barangays so we can identify the number of children eligible for this round of pediatric vaccinations,” pahayag ni Dr. Eleria.
Gayunman, niliwanag nito na ang National Task Force Against COVID-19 (NTF) at Department of Health (DOH) ay wala pang naipalalabas na dagdag na guidelines para sa pagpapatupad ng pagbabakuna sa mga minors.
Kaugnay nito, sinabi ni QC Mayor Joy Belmonte na patuloy na gumagawa ng paraan ang lokal na pamahalaan para maisaayos nang husto ang minor vaccination lalo pa’t marami rin sa mga kabataan ay nahawa ng virus.
“Finally our younger children will be given the opportunity to receive the protection they so badly need in order to experience some kind of normalcy in their lives after having been cooped up for so long inside their houses to prevent the risk of infection. The pedia vaccines for 5-11 year olds will ensure that they will no longer suffer the side effects of prolonged immobility such as mental health problems, and can spend time with their parents and older siblings in recreational environments as well as eventually go back to face to face classes,” sabi pa ni Belmonte.
