IBC-13 employees natanggap na retirement pay

Matapos 22 taon

MANILA, Philippines — Natanggap na ng may 145 empleyado ng Intercontinental Broadcasting Corporation o IBC-13 ang kanilang retirement pay matapos ang 22 taong paghihintay.

Nabatid na 25 sa mga retirees ang pumanaw na nang hindi man lang natikman ang retirement pay at nasa 28 management teams ang dumaan sa IBC 13 bago nabayaran ang mga empleyado.

Ang IBC-13, kasama ang mga government-owned media companies -- tulad ng  Peoples Television Network, Presidential Broadcast Service-Bureau of Broadcast Services --ay media arm ng Presidential Communication Office (PCO) na pinamumunuan ni Secretary Cheloy Garafil.

Ayon kay Garafil, ang pagbabayad sa retirement pay na nagkakahalaga ng P50 milyon ay isa sa mga marching orders ni Pangulong Marcos.

“The President gave the instruction to help resolve their claims as addressing the welfare of media workers is one of the cornerstones of his administration and of the PCO. So it is a great honor for me to be able to be part of this much-awaited and much-deserved awarding of bene­fits to our colleagues in the media,” pahayag ni Garafil.

Sinabi naman ni IBC-13 President at CEO Jimmie Policarpio na nasa 200 pamilya ang nakinabang dito.

Karamihan umano sa mga natitirang retirees ay may mga maintenance na gamit habang ang iba ay may malalang sakit na.

Kasabay nito, nagpasalamat naman si Policarpio kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., Garafil at sa iba pa.
