MANILA, Philippines — AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines ang planong iturok sa mga senior health care workers makaraang irekomenda ng ilang experts.
“May mga doctor po na nagsasabi, priority natin yung mga senior health care workers. So yung deployment po nito, sa mga hospital pa rin po,” ayon kay vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.
Limitado lamang ang Sinovac vaccine sa mga edad 18-59 taong gulang base sa rekomendasyon ng National Immunization Technical Advisory Group, kaya nais nila na gawing available ang AstraZeneca sa mga senior health workers para maproteksyunan rin sila laban sa virus.
“The Astrazeneca vaccine has no limits on age,” sabi ni Galvez. “So we will await for the advice of the NITAG [if] we can use this for senior citizens who are health workers and can’t be inoculated with the Sinovac.”
Nang aprubahan naman umano ng Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) ang emergency use authorization (EUA) ng AstraZeneca, maaaring ibigay ito sa mga may edad 18 pataas at wala namang limitasyon sa mas nakatatanda.
