Kandidato ‘di dapat sumali sa canvassing committee ng Presidente, VP

MANILA, Philippines – Kung si Senate president Franklin Drilon ang tatanungin, hindi dapat sumali sa canvassing committee ang mga tumakbo nitong katatapos lamang na eleksyon upang maiwasan ang conflict of interest.

Sinabi ni Drilon na kahit ang mga nag-concede o sumuko na ay hindi dapat makilahok sa gagawing official canvassing ng joint session ng Kamara at Senado sa Kongreso para sa pagkapresidente at bise presidente.

 “It is not ethical and you will have a conflict of interest if you are a candidate and you sit in the canvass. That cannot be, that cannot be proper. For example, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano can't sit in the canvass as well as Sens. Grace (Poe), Chiz (Escudero),” pahayag ni Drilon na muling nanalong senador.

“Kahit nagconcede. For example, si Sen. Nancy (Binay) I think would have to take a good look at the situation because she is the daughter of (Vice President Jejomar) Binay. It depends on them, but then we consider the circumstance,” dagdag niya.

Nakatakdang buksan ngayon ang Kongreso para sa joing session kung saan ang ilang miyembro ng Kamara at Senado ang uupo bilang National Board of Canvassers.

Sa partial at unofficial count ng PPCRV mula sa transparency server ng Commission on Elections, nanguna sina Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte at Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo sa pagkapangulo at pagkabise presidente.
