Julia hirap pa rin sa pagiging Barretto

Inamin ni Julia Barretto na mahirap maging Barretto dahil sa pressure at comparison. Sa live Instagram interview ni Julia with G3 San Diego recently, natanong ang aktres kung ano ang best part ng pagiging Barretto at ano naman ang disadvantage.

Sa parte ng “disadvantage” ani Julia ay wala naman pero in terms or being in the same industry, aniya ay napakahirap daw. “I think people always have that notion na ‘okay, anak ‘yan ng artista, so mas madali.’ They think it’s easier, G, but honestly, it is so, so hard. It is so, so hard because there’s so much pressure and the comparison is until your last project in your career or until you grow old.

“And you know for a while you’ll be at the shadow and you have so much to prove before you can get out of that shadow and you have to prove why you deserve to be in the industry, why you’re in the industry and why you’re not just there because of the last name,” ani Julia.

At bukod pa nga riyan, at such a young age na kasisimula pa lang niya sa showbiz ay ‘yun na agad ang sumalubong na intriga sa kanya.

“But you know, I think I just took the challenge and I just let it motivate me instead of make it a burden,” she said.

Well, hindi naman kaila sa lahat na laging ikinukumpara si Julia sa kanyang dalawang tiyahin na sina Claudine and Gretchen especially sa una na isang napakahusay na aktres.

Wish lang ni Julia na sa dulo ng lahat ng ito maging proud sa kanya ang 1st generation ng Barretto sa showbiz. “And you know, maybe just also, I hope I will be able to do something that will make the elder ones proud and even the next generation after me, proud,” she said.

Thankful naman si Julia na nabibigyan pa rin siya ng projects ng kanyang home network kahit na nga ba walang free TV ang ABS-CBN ngayon. Sa panahon na maraming nawalan ng trabaho, happy ang aktres na may digital show pa ring nabibigay sa kanya.

“There’s something to look forward to because things are changing and it’s just a diffe-
rent setting, different set-up, and I think we have no choice but to really embrace it and accept that this is the now.”

Wala naman daw tayong magagawa sa mga bagay na hindi natin kontrolado na kaya go with the flow na lang.  Dagdag pa niya, “it’s exciting where this industry is going but let’s protect it. Let’s protect our industry especially there’s so many things na naman na lumilitaw na lang bigla-bigla. Let’s protect it, please. Let’s all come together.”
