What do Gloria Romero and Eddie Garcia have in common, besides na pareho silang Sampaguita Pictures colleagues noong kanilang kabataan?
Well, they are two of the remaining star-actors of their time, na hanggang ngayon, in demand pa for work, wika nga.
Now, 79 years old Gloria has lately been in one TV series after another, all produced by GMA 7, where she is currently under contract to.
She is currently co-starring in a teleserye with Camille Prats and child star Jilian Ward.
Eddie naman, a freelancer, is in his 80s. He is in the top series Juan dela Cruz, produced by ABS-CBN.
Eddie was a special awardee in the recent Luna Awards for his indie movie, Bwakaw.

Gloria Galla is her real maiden name (she married fellow Sampaguitan Juancho Gutierrez, remember?). She first tried her luck sa Premiere Productions.
When she decided to sign up with Sampaguita Pictures, the late Dr. Jose Perez, starmaker and owner of the then no. 1 movie studio in town, suggested na palitan ang kanyang family name, as it didn’t sound, he told Gloria, “glamorous†enough.
“Medyo nahirapan kaming mag-isip ng apelyidong aakma sa first name ko,†kuwento ni Gloria sa isang interview. “Saka naman biglang bumungad sa pintuan ng office ni Doc Perez si Eddie, na roon ay isang struggling scriptwriter pa lamang.
“Ang sumunod, the brilliant suggestion ni Doc Perez that I adapt Eddie’s family name for my screen family name,†pahayag pa ni Gloria.

Guess what keeps senator Francis Pangilinan, better-half of the megastar Sharon Cuneta, when he’s not busy as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Food?
Well, keeping himself busy is his farm with daughters Frankie and Mariel and son, Miguel.
The Pangilinan Farm is located in Cavite, which, thus, make it convenient for him and his children, as the Pangilinan now live in Ayala Westgrove heights, Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.
Guess what are planted in the Pangilinan farm; corn, eggplants, and finger peppers.
Few know that Senator Kiko also was able to lease some three hectares of land in Alfonso, BaÂÂÂtaÂnÂgas, malapit sa Nasugbu, Batangas, where he and his business partners have planted coffee.
Called Sweet Spring Country Farm, it now has some 500 coffee trees planted.
Why they named the farm such is because may spring running through it, which, according to the Senator, is a sight to behold.
May mga alaga rin silang baboy, pato at manok. Kaya, kinakailangan nilang mag-employ ng farm workers, na labis na kinasisiya ni Senator Kiko at nakapagbibigay siya ng pagkakakitaan sa mga taong, tulad niya, ay may pagmamahal sa lupa.
