PNP Chief: 140 pulis na ang nagpositibo sa COVID

MANILA, Philippines — Umakyat na sa 140 ang bilang ng pulis na tinamaan ng COVID-19 sa Pilipinas.

Sa virtual presser, sinabi ni Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Archie Gamboa na ang nasabing bilang ay katumbas ng 1.26 pors­yento sa kabuuang confirmed COVID-19 cases sa bansa.

Limang PNP personnel aniya ang naka-confine sa medical facilities para magamot, 64 ang nananatili sa quarantine centers habang 17 ang nakasailalim sa home quarantine.

“The good news is, the 35.7% recovery rate of PNP COVID-19 cases has been consistently well above the national ave­rage, while the mortality rate is kept at the barest minimum,” pahayag ng hepe ng PNP.

“To enhance PNP capability to keep all 205,000 personnel CO­VID-19 resilient, we sought the Department of Health and World Health Organization approval to develop and operate our own RT-PCR tes­ting laboratory, hopefully as soon as we are done with the proficiency test, as early as two weeks,” dagdag pa nito.
