Alyssa may right ankle injury

MANILA, Philippines — Isa itong masamang balita para Philippine women’s volleyball national team dahil muli na naman silang napilayan.

Hindi na makakasama ng national team sa training camp at sa 2019 ASEAN Grand Prix sa Thailand si Alyssa Valdez dahil sa right ankle injury.

Nakatakda sanang lumipad patungong Thailand ang four-time PVL Most Valuable Player ngayong araw kasama ang ilan pang PVL players na sina Jia Morado, Maddie Madayag, Jovelyn Gonzaga at Eya Laure para sumama sa training camp ng 10 naunang manlalaro doon.

Kinumpirma mismo ng Rebisco, ang major sponsor ng tropa, ang masamang balitang ito sa kanilang Instagram account at humingi sila ng suporta para kay Valdez hanggang sa paggaling ng volleyball star.

“Let’s give our love and all-out support to our Phenom Alyssa Valdez who injured her ankle. Because of this, she won’t be able to train in Thailand as she was advised to undergo physical therapy,” pahayag ng Rebisco.

Bukod kay Valdez, una nang nawala sa 16-man roster ng national team si Fil-Am setter Iris Tolenada na hindi pinayagan ng Motolite.

Dahil dito ay 14 players na lamang ang sasabak sa nasabing torneo sa pangu­nguna nina Kalei Mau, Alohi Robins-Hardy, Aby Maraño at Ces Molina na nakatakda sa Setyembre 20-22 sa Nakhon Ratchasima sa Thailand.
