‘Pacman’ itinaas sa No. 4 sa listahan ng pound-for-pound

MANILA, Philippines - Mula sa kanyang pa­na­lo kay dating world wel­terweight titlist Timothy Bradley, Jr. noong Linggo ay umangat si Fili­pino legend Manny Pacquiao sa pound-for-pound lists ng RingTV.com.

Itinaas ng RingTV.com si Pacquiao sa No. 4 ma­tapos bawiin ang kanyang World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title kay Bradley sa MGM Grand sa Las Ve­gas, Nevada.

Inilagay naman ng Sports Illustrated si ‘Pacman’ sa No. 3 sa kanilang listahan.

Dinomina ni Pacquiao si Bradley sa loob ng 12 rounds para maiganti ang kanyang split decision loss noong Hunyo 9, 2012 sa MGM Grand para mu­ling maging isang world champion.

“Call him Pacquiao 2.0,” sabi ng Sports Illus­trated sa Filipino icon. “This version of Pacquiao doesn’t apply the same relent­less pressure, doesn’t intimidate op­po­nents with crushing po­wer, doesn’t win many fights by knockout.”

“But this Pacquiao can still overwhelm with his activity and is difficult to outpoint,” dagdag ng SI.

Nanatili naman si American superstar Floyd Mayweather, Jr. sa No. 1 sa listahan ng Sports Illustrated kasunod si super middleweight champion Andre Ward.

Si Bradley ay bumagsak sa No. 10 sa Sports Illustrated rankings.

“Despite the loss to Pac­quiao, Bradley didn’t di­minish his brand,” wika ng Sports Illustrated. “He abandoned his counter­pun­ching style in search of a decisive win, and pro­bably won some new fans with the effort.”
