Ricky, ididirek ang mga dayuhang aktor
Guess, Salve A., what’s next for actor-director Ricky Davao, after maidirek niya ang TV version ng pelikulang Nagbabagang Luha, currently airing on GMA 7.
Nagbabagang Luha, of course, is a much heralded film, as it was not just a hit movie, but, iyon nga, well-acclaimed as well, directed by Ishmael Bernal, a multi-awarded movie and TV director.
Released in 1988, the cast included Lorna Tolentino, Gabby Concepcion, Richard Gomez at Alice Dixson.
Direk Bernal died in 1996 at aged 58.
The current series, Nagbabagang Luha, stars naman Glaiza de Castro, plus Jaclyn Jose at Allan Paule.
Now, to direk Ricky’s next exciting assignment.
He is set to do a film, na ang setting ay sa ibang bansa at ang cast will be mostly foreign actors.
Kaya, natural na ang market nito ay pang-ibang bansa rin.
Nagkaroon na raw sila ng pre-production meeting, bagama’t ayaw pang idetalye ni direk Ricky ang kanilang mga napag-usapan.
More on Ricky D., his and Jackie Lou Blanco’s youngest daughter, Arabella (Davao) is now in showbiz na rin.
Only 19 years old, she is very pretty, and even taller than her mom.
She sings, too, like her mom, Jackie Lou, and, of course, Lola Pilita Corrales, mother of her mom.
Huwag na nating itanong saan naman siya nagmana ng galing sa pag-arte.
Sabi nga, ikaw na ang maging anak ni Ricky (Davao).
Arabella is now reportedly with Star Magic.
Sheryl at Jeric, ‘hiwalay’ muna
Well, Salve A., we stand corrected.
Well, from Marian of the GMA PR (public relations department), she mentioned the she always reads daw Pang Masa at nabasa nga raw niya, ‘yong column item na isinulat namin (issue of July 28) tungkol kina Sheryl Cruz at Jeric Gonzales.
Bagama’t nasa Prima Donnas Book 2, yes, si Sheryl, si Jeric ay hindi raw.
Marami raw “bagong mukha” sa Prima Donnas at isa na rito si Allen Ansay.
Allen is 18 and hails from Sagnay, Camarines Sur.
In 2019, he emerged runner-up to Kim de Leon sa reality show, StarStruck ng GMA Network.
Susan, walang birthday celebration
Last July 28, Susan Roces turned exactly 80 years old.
But unlike in her past birthdays, walang selebrasyon na naganap.
Well, no need to tell us why.
Pero, hindi ito naging hadlang para ‘di siya batiin ng co-stars niya sa top action series, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, pinangunahan na, of course, ni Coco Martin, who plays the title role.
Mag-lola ang roles nina Susan at Coco sa series.
Niregaluhan ni Coco si Susan ng birthday video, where, kabilang sa mga bumati kay Susan ay ang ilan pa niyang co-stars sa FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, kabilang na sina Lorna Tolentino, Tirso Cruz III, Angel Aquino at Rowell Santiago.
On August 20 naman, Susan’s late husband, Fernando Poe Jr., still referred to as the King of Action Movies, will turn 82.
He died December 14, 2004, at aged 65.
On December 25, Susan and FPJ would have marked their 53rd wedding anniversary.
They were married Christmas Day 1968 at the Santuario de San Jose Parish in Greenhills.
