Nasa bansa ulit ang premyadong singer na si Joey Albert at meron itong Valentines show sa The Theatre at Solaire.
Isang magandang celebration ito para kay Joey dahil muli siyang nagwagi sa pakikipaglaban sa sakit na cancer.
“It might come again but I’ll know how to fight it even better than before.
“There are still a few more restrictions and there is a cyst in my pancreas that is still being monitored every six months.
“But the will is there and for as long as the will is strong, I think we’re all going to be okay,” ngiti pa ni Joey.
Unang na-diagnose with cervical cancer si Joey noong 1995. Noong gumaling siya sa sakit na ito ay muling na-diagnose siya with colon cancer in 2003.
“I have a Facebook page and when I was sick and just lying in bed at home, I really took into messaging with my fans. And it was wonderful hearing their stories about how my songs played a role in their lives.
“There was one who told me that she was the daughter of a PLDT repairman I gave a copy of my album to. To this day, her father still has that album.
“And then, there was this person I met who worked in a hotel in Calgary and he said, ‘When I came to Canada, I was so lonely and what got me through those time was a cassette of your music.’ I was touched.”
Kahit na may sakit si Joey, hindi iyon naging hadlang para makapag-perform siya.
“The real battle is within yourself, how you keep your head above water. I never asked why. You know, you just end up disappointing yourself if you ask why. You humble yourself and accept and then you let God take over.
“I don’t know very many people who are given the same chances. I think it’s even a miracle that I was given the grace to face it.
“Depression is the easiest thing to fall into. And now I know what grace is. Grace is fearlessness.
“In the end, there’s much to appreciate and there’s more to be thankful for.”
Pinasikat ni Joey Albert noong ‘80s and early ‘90s ang mga awiting Tell Me, Points of View, Million Miles Away, Iisa Pa Lamang, Ikaw Lang Ang Mamahalin, It’s Over Now, Yakapin Mo Ako, at Sa ‘Yo Lamang.
Maricris Garcia ngarag na sa papalapit na kasal
Sa December ng taong ito or January 2017 ang target wedding dates ng Pinoy Pop Superstar winner na si Maricris Garcia sa kanyang fiancé na si TJ Cruz.
Na-engaged si Maricris nitong nakaraang January sa kanyang boyfriend of four years sa Baguio City.
“Nag-celebrate kasi kami ng 4th anniversary namin sa Baguio. Doon niya ako sinorpresa with the ring. Hindi na nga niya natanong ang ‘Will you marry me?’ basta nasuot ko na lang and I said ‘Yes!’
“Ready naman na kami to get married. Lalo na ako, ako na lang sa aming magkakapatid ang walang asawa. All my siblings are married na.
“I never thought na ganito kahirap ang ikasal!” tawa pa niya.
“But it’s exciting na rin kasi pareho kaming nakikipag-usap at nakikipag-meeting sa wedding planner namin.
“Mabuti na lang at wala akong teleserye at puro mga shows lang ang ginagawa ko. May nakalaan akong time to meet these people na mag-aasikaso ng wedding namin.”
Ang maid of honor ni Maricris ay ang kaibigan niyang si Aicelle Santos. Isa naman sa bridesmaids niya ay si Frencheska Farr.
Kasama si Maricris sa all-star charity album ng GMA Records na One Heart. Ang kikitain ng album sa digital downloads nito ay mapupunta sa GMA Kapuso Foundation.
Kasama ni Maricris sa natuang album ay sina Yasmien Kurdi, Julian Trono, Kapuso Foundation, Rita Daniela, Ralf King, Glaiza de Castro, Kristoffer Martin, Derrick Monasterio, Kylie Padilla, Ruru Madrid, Gabbi Garcia, James Wright at marami pang iba.
American Idol runner-up na si Katharine McPhee at Nick Cokas, divorced na
Officially divorced na ang American Idol Season 5 runner-up na si Katharine McPhee sa kanyang estranged husband na si Nick Cokas.
Nag-file ng divorce si McPhee noong May 2014.
Ayon sa court documents, babayaran ni McPhee ang kanyang ex-husband ng
$102,616 at tatanggap pa ito ng spousal support na nagkakalaga ng $400,000 a year or $33,333 a month.
Bilang kapalit, magiging pag-aari na ni McPhee ang lahat ng expensive furnitures, artworks and personal effects kasama na ang 2013 Mercedes M Class SUV.
Kay McPhee rin mapupunta ang mga bank accounts and insurance policies. Kasama na rin ang mga music and TV rights.

“After six years of marriage, and having been separated for the past year, Katharine McPhee has filed for a dissolution of marriage from Nick Cokas.
“The two have an amicable relationship and will remain friends. They ask that people respect their privacy during this time.”
Nagkakilala ang ex-couple noong 2005 bago pa man sumali si McPhee sa American Idol in 2005. Kinasal sila noong February 2, 2008.
Nababalitang dine-date ngayon ni McPhee ang co-star niya sa TV series na Scorpion na si Elyes Gabel.
