2 ‘drug money launderers’ sinilbihan ng freeze order ng PDEA at BOC
MANILA, Philippines — Isinilbi kahapon ng magkasanib na puwersa ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), at Bureau of Customs (BOC) ng isang freeze order sa bank at credit accounts, insurance policies, real properties, at motor vehicles ang dalawang suspected drug personalities na alinsunod sa freeze order na inisyu ng 5th Division ng Court of Appeals noong Mayo 27, 2021.
Ayon kay PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva, ang 5th Division ng Court of Appeals ay nag-isyu ng resolusyon na nagpapahintulot sa inihaing Petition for the Issuance of a Freeze Order laban sa mga assets ni Julie Hao Gamboa, alyas Kimberly, at mag-asawang Ruben at Teresita Taguba.
Saklaw ng freeze order ang 173 bank at credit accounts, insurance policies, 17 properties, at limang motor vehicles ng mga suspek.
Kasunod ng pagpapalabas ng freeze order, ang mga opisyal ng PDEA, AMLC at BOC, sa pangunguna nina Villanueva at AMLC Executive Director Atty. Mel Georgie B. Racela, ay nagpaskil ng notices of freeze order sa dalawa sa real properties ng mga suspek, na may conservative market value na humigit-kumulang sa P70 milyon sa Quezon City.
Sinabi ni Customs Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence Group Raniel Ramiro na ang kaso ay may kinalaman sa seizure ng P1.8 bilyong halaga ng shabu noong Marso 22, 2019 sa Manila International Container Port (MICP). Nasabat ng pinagsanib na puwersa ng PDEA Intelligence and Investigation Service (IIS), PDEA Regional Office-National Capital Region (RO-NCR), at BOC ang kabuuang 276 kilo ng shabu, na nakatago sa mga pakete ng tsaa at ang shipment ay mula sa Vietnam.
“Since the bureau is at the helm of the country’s border security, we’ve been working extensively with the MICP against illegal smuggling in our ports,” dagdag pa ni Ramiro.
