Dumanjug, Dalaguete clash for Cabaron Cup title tonight
CEBU, Philippines — Expect a dogfight as teams from Dumanjug and Dalaguete figure in a sudden-death duel for the championship of the 2nd Mayor Inocentes Cabaron Invitational Basketball Tournament today in Moalboal town, south of Cebu.
Game time is set at 7:30 p.m.
Dumanjug booked a final ticket after booting out Barili, 96-67, while Dalaguete advanced after ousting Aloguinsan, 75-65, in last week’s semifinals.
Ex-PBA player Jojo Tangkay will be at the cornerstone of Dumanjug’s title quest together with the explosive brothers Joseph Arth and Joseph Airo Nalos. They will be backed up by foreign reinforcement Frederick Elombi.
Dalaguete, on the other, will count on Mark Daniel Delgado, Raffy Benson, and import Sommy Managor to carry most of their offensive load.
Aside from claiming the coveted crown, the winner of the do-or-die clash will take home a whopping P200,000 cash prize. — (FREEMAN)
