Batang Pier may pag-asa na sa semis
MANILA, Philippines - Sina Fil-American guard Alex Cabagnot at veteran guard Bonbon Custodio na nga ba ang sinasabing ‘missing link’ para sa tagumpay ng Batang Pier?
Sinabi nina team manager BJ Manalo at head coach Pido Jarencio na may sapat na eksperyensa sina Cabagnot at Custodio para maigiya ang Globalport sa semifinal round ng darating na 2014 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
“He’s the perfect leader Globalport needs at this point,†wika ni Manalo kay Cabagnot. “He is also the mentor we were looking for to guide our rookies RR (Garcia) and Terrence (Romeo).â€
Sa pagkawala ni scoring guard Sol Mercado, ang 10-year veteran na si Cabagnot ang aalalay sa mga Batang Pier. Si Cabagnot ay nakuha ng Globalport mula sa Petron Blaze sa isang one-on-one trade sangkot si Mercado.
“In getting Alex, we had to sacrifice Sol who we wish for the best,†dagdag pa ni Manalo.
Naging miyembro ng coaching staff ng Petron Blaze (ngayon ay San Miguel Beer), walang nakikitang problema si Jarencio sa paghawak kay Cabagnot na kanyang inilaÂrawan bilang ‘very efficient and excellent leader inside the court’.
“With Alex, Bonbon, RR and Terrence, rest assure that this team will run and run in our bid fulfill our goal,†sabi ni Manalo.
Si Custodio ay nakuha ng Globalport mula sa Air21 bilang kapalit ni Jonas Villanueva.
