24 ABAP fighters sa martial arts tournament

MANILA, Philippines - Kabuuang 24 national boxers mula sa PLDT-ABAP roster ang lalahok sa Adidas Martial Arts Week ngayon sa SM Mall of Asia.

Ang mga labanan sa boxing, judo, karate, taekwondo at wrestling ay idaraos hanggang Hulyo 31.

Sisimulan ito ng 12 bouts sa boxing, ayon kay ABAP executive director Ed Picson.

Makakalaban ni Crisanto Godaren ng Baguio City si Victorio Saludar ng Panabo City (52 kgs), makakasabayan ni Junel Cantancio ng Air Force si Nico Magliquian ng Negros Occidental (56 kgs), makakaharap ni Nice Zaa Petecio ng Davao del Norte si Maricris Igam ng Palawan (54 kgs), makakasagupa ni Joan Tipon ng Negros Occidental si Recky Dulay ng Northern Samar (56 kgs), makakalaban ni Nathaniel Montealto ng Palawan si Dennis Galvan ng Negros Occidental (64 kgs) at makakatipan ni Ricalyn Aquino ng Bicol si Mich Joy Hugo ng Palawan (60 kgs.).

Makikita rin sa aksyon sina Josie Ga­buco ng Palawan at Irish Magno ng Iloilo (60 kgs), Rey Saludar ng Philippine Army at Gerson Nietes ng Negros Occidental (52 kgs), Charly Suarez at Orlando Tacuyan, Jr. (60 kgs), Analisa Cruz at Nesthy Petecio (54 kgs), Mark Anthony Barriga at Jack Tepora (49 kgs) at Rolando Tacuyan at Wilfredo Lopez (69 kgs) ng Day One.

Ang martial arts tournament ay bahagi ng selection process ni ABAP chairman Manny V. Pangilinan ng Smart-PLDT at president Ricky Vargas ng Maynilad para sa Asian Championship sa South Korea, ang World Championship sa Azerbaijan at sa Southeast Asian Games sa Indonesia, ayon kay Picson.
