MANILA, Philippines - Samsung SMART Classrooms recently opened at the Flora Primary School and Maruglo Elemetary School in Capas, Tarlac. Both schools cater to students from remote, underserved communities that are also home to indigenous peoples, particularly Aeta tribes. Thanks to the newly-opened classrooms, these schools now have a computer laboratory for digital learning.

Samsung Electronics Corp. Philippines launched the Samsung SMART Classrooms project in partnership with the Department of Education (DepED) to take the lead in building an interactive and collaborative learning environment in remote, underserved schools.

The classrooms include both hardware and software components. For the hardware component, Samsung provides innovative digital learning equipment including tablets, laptops, and printers. Meanwhile, the software component includes the learning management system. Samsung also provides teacher training for beneficiary schools.

“Through these resources, the Samsung SMART classrooms aim to enhance and improve the teaching and learning process, while providing the students a fun and engaging place to learn,” said Arlita Narag, head of Samsung Public Affairs.
