'Dream come true': Lovi Poe officially joins Star Magic
MANILA, Philippines — Actress Lovi Poe marks a new milestone in her career as she officially signs with ABS-CBN's talent management arm, Star Magic.
The actress was formally welcomed to the Star Magic family during an exclusive media event held on July 21 at the ELJ Communications Center in Quezon City.
For Lovi, becoming part of Star Magic is the fulfillment of a longtime dream.
"I would always watch Star Magic or hear about Star Magic in the past when I was younger, and just to be part of this family, I just can't believe it. For me, it's a dream come true," she shared.
The actress also looked back on her recent role as Mokang in the hit ABS-CBN action series “FPJ's Batang Quiapo,” describing the experience as memorable. She expressed hope that she would have another opportunity to work with lead actor and director Coco Martin in future projects.
Beyond acting, Lovi spoke about balancing her professional ambitions with motherhood. She has been raising her first child with producer Monty Blencowe.
"Ambition and motherhood go well together. It strengthens each other. We get anxious and think, 'What if we don't get to do the things that we love?' No, you'll still be able to do those dreams with the right people around you and with the right mindset," she said.
She was with GMA Artist Center (now Sparkle) for 15 years before she transferred to ABS-CBN in 2021 as an exclusive talent for the latter's content. She was not signed with ABS-CBN's Star Magic until this July.
Star Magic and TV Production head Laurenti Dyogi praised Lovi’s versatility, calling her one of the industry's most accomplished artists.
"Lovi represents excellence. She can do a lot of things. She is a great actress, a performer, and a producer. She can and is in a good place to protect the legacy of her father, FPJ," Dyogi said during the event.
Flying between Manila and the United States, Lovi has built a filmography that features Filipino and foreign produtions. Her projects outside of the Philippines include "Bad Man" and "My Sister's Bones."
When she is not acting, she stands behind the camera through her production outfit, C'est Lovi Productions.
