The best is yet to come

Cosmo Manille’s night scene royal, Mr. L.Y. himself, celebrated another dazzling year at our town’s upscale chic-y bar called V. Saying hello to the pack of night owls was Louie Y’s attractive wife Cecile Chang-Ysmael. Needless to say, the rich, the famous and the beautiful were breezing in endlessly.

In their favorite corner were the Gang! like Philip Cruz, Pepper Teehankee, Chito Melo, Bobong Velez, Henry Yutuc, glamor gal Vicky Zubiri, headturner Trish Cu Unjieng, Janine de Padua, Thelina Nuval, Joey de los Santos, Eddie Manuel and strongman Mon Tulfo.

L.Y.’s dearest gang from way back like Bong Daza, Raulito Manglapuz and Charlie Carmona teased the celebrator about turning a year older. "I may have grown a year older but I’m not necessarily wiser!" he quipped back.

Young power couples like Iñigo and Maricris Zobel, Pedro and Gina Roxas, Concoy and Doodie Tuason, EJ and Tess Litton, Peng and Vickie Perez de Tagle, Benjie and Yvette Sevilla, Vince and Ana Bitong enjoyed the happening, a reunion of sorts for Louie Y.

At midnight, the staff of V rolled out a birthday cake, and Louie gamely blew ALL! the candles. The party pack continued dancing and boozing till way past 4 a.m., seen mingling were billiard sister act interior designers Cynthia and Ivy Almario, handsome Victor Valbuena, Dudo Vaca, Chiqui Tan, Rea Gomez and Fran Ribaño.

As the happening was wrapping up at 5 a.m., a still energized Louie Y. was standing by the bar, drink in hand, grinning from ear to ear. "I’m thankful for having lived such a fruitful and colorful life. This year promises to be even better than the last. I’m sure the best is yet to come," he said. Cheers!

Remember, palanggas, "If you’re not as close to Jesus Christ as you need to be, guess who moved." Smile. See you.
