Belo-beautiful celebrations

The Belo Medical Group, known as the pioneer of several beauty breakthroughs such as liposuction, surgical and non-surgical beauty procedures, lasers and more, celebrated its 24th anniversary recently. The company is under the excellent leadership of founder and medical director Dr. Vicki Belo and managing director Cristalle Belo Henares.

The country’s premier dermatology and cosmetic surgery center also saw a number of its Belo clinics turn a year older, with each branch choosing a theme for the celebration.

The energetic Dr. Belo, along with the company’s top executives and several endorsers, came to join the festivities organized by the clinics.

Congratulations to Dr. Vicki Belo, Cristalle Belo Henares and team for this remarkable feat! Here’s to more successful years for the Belo Medical Group!

Ballet on Mabini: A smash!

Ballet Philippines’ full-length ballet La Revolucion Filipina was an overwhelming success with six performances capped off with much applause and standing ovations.

The modern dance masterpiece, choreographed by Agnes Locsin with libretto by Dennis Marasigan and music by Ryan Cayabyab, honors the sublime paralytic, Apolinario Mabini, who celebrated his 150th birth anniversary this year.

Ballet Philippines president Margie Moran-Floirendo and artistic director Paul Alexander Morales helped entertain the guests during the opening night and the gala sponsored by the UP College of Law Class of 1991.

Among the notable guests at the opening gala were writer and staunch advocate of heritage conservation Gemma Cruz-Araneta, composer Ryan Cayabyab, and several Ballet Philippines friends and alumni.

Congratulations, Margie!

Noli Me Tangere: The Opera

The Filipino audience will have a chance to witness stellar performances of talented artists as philanthropist and art advocate Loida Nicolas-Lewis, together with the Resorts World Manila,  brings to the country Noli Me Tangere: The Opera, the first Tagalog opera ever to be staged in New York City.

Opening today at the Newport Performing Arts Theater of the Resorts World Manila until Sept. 28 (except on Mondays), the said opera is based on Philippine National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal’s 1887 classic novel of the same title.

A brainchild of two virtuosos namely Felipe de Leon, who composed the score, and Guillermo Tolentino, who penned the lyrics, Noli Me Tangere: The Opera is considered the finest work from these Philippine National Artists.
