Johnny says... A visitor from the North Pole

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star

It must have been a welcome respite for Jolly Old St. Nick when he paid a visit to the balmy, inviting holiday spot in Cebu — Plantation Bay Resort and Spa. The resort’s managing director Manny Gonzalez and acting general manager Nenette Castillon, in preparation for Santa’s visit, invited resort guests and special friends to the special ceremonies that marked the start of Plantation Bay’s Christmas festivities.

Before the program started, each guest was given a floating lantern and asked to whisper a short prayer for the typhoon Yolanda victims and survivors before releasing them into the lagoon. After all the Christmas lights around the resort grounds were simultaneously switched on,  Father Christmas made quite an entrance on a glass-bottom kayak with four lovely mermaids as escorts.

The evening also saw the launching of Plantation Bay’s 2014 calendar plus a mini-fashion show featuring the gorgeous calendar girls who are all proud and happy employees of the world-class resort on Mactan Island.

Plantation Bay’s annual Christmas festivities are, indeed, always something to look forward to!

A December birthday

An informal gathering of long-time colleagues was hosted by Jayelles’ Roselle Rebano as she notched another year this month. An impressive lunch was served at Mabuhay Palace, the fine-dining Chinese restaurant of the historic Manila Hotel, for the happy group of Siena College chums. The ladies feasted on Baked Pit Lobster in custard sauce, Old Beijing Nobleman Soup with pastry puff and conch meat with brown sauce, to name a few of the creations prepared by the five-star hotel’s culinary masters.

Happy birthday, Roselle!  Here’s wishing you good health and fortune!

Sounds of the Season

Christmas came early in Tagaytay with the tree-lighting ceremony held at Crosswinds Swiss Luxury Resort.  Vista Land president and CEO Paolo Villar, with Brittany Corp. assistant general manager, engineer Earl Millanes and marketing head Trixie Dial, switched on the lights of the tallest Christmas tree this side of town to kick off the holiday season.

Guests enjoyed the cool mountain breeze and warm company of good friends. They were also treated to a special concert titled Sounds of Christmas right before sunset at the viewing deck of Crosswinds. The event has become a Christmas tradition at Crosswinds, a 100-hectare prime leisure development of Brittany Corp. Property owners and residents of nearby areas look forward to this occasion every year.

Today’s women are not just revered for their beauty but more so for the causes that matter to them and their influence on such.  The awarding ceremonies for this year’s “Empowered Women of Achievement” is set on Dec. 27 at Teatrino-Promenade in Greenhills, with the lovely women of substance expected to wear the latest creations of prominent fashion designer Goullee Gorospe, who is also the contest organizer.
