The grass is always greener for the Golden Tee

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -

The country’s finest personalities and golf enthusiasts recently gathered for the fun and surprise-filled awards night of the 41st Annual Golden Tee Celebration at the Manila Golf and Country Club (MGCC) in Makati. Hosted by your columnist and the alluring Brazilian model and local television show host Daiana Menezes, the evening started with the opening remarks of MGCC vice president and tournament committee chairman Raoul Romulo who acknowledged the Ladies Branch and the hardworking tournament committee for all their efforts in making the monumental event possible. MGCC president Rep. Martin Romualdez also expressed his gratitude and thoughts on this year’s tournament, which was followed by the awarding of club champions Sandy Prieto Romualdez, Jaime Panganiban, Arsenic Laurel, Martin Lorenzo and the hole-in-one winner Dindo Litonjua and Severino Roxas Chua. Of course, the celebration would not be complete without recognizing the Golden Tee winners this year: Universal Robina Corp.’s (URC) Al King (second runner-up), Land Rover’s Jojo Mercado (first runner-up), Bacchus’ Joey Solis (champion) and the overall division team champions Dakila Fonacier and Jart Tugade.

It was indeed one of the most notable Golden Tee events, thanks to MGCC special board adviser Macario Te and his ever-efficient team members who always put their best foot forward with every project. Congratulations to the brilliant people behind MGCC for another successful Golden Tee celebration. See you next year!
