Sporty Stella

The Adidas by Stella McCartney’s Fall/Winter 2008 collection continues to redefine and challenge traditional sport silhouettes. Its latest collection was presented at its Rockwell store hosted by Adidas managing director Joey Singian, Southeast Asia director Angelica Suiza, GM for sales Bing Paras and Adidas Rockwell retailer Hans Yao.

 This season’s collection takes inspiration from an era of charming and graceful ballet recitals in the new Gym Dance range and ornate handcrafted Victorian-inspired embellishments in the prints and cuts of the Tennis line. The best-selling Wintersports range offers sexy, feminine fits while the Running line features bold, vivacious colors with striking attention to detail.

 Alongside this season’s latest Gym Dance, Tennis, Running and Wintersports collections, the range still has Golf, Gym Yoga, Gym Studio and Cover Ups, introducing a naturally dyed organic cotton tee.

 The Adidas Fall/Winter 2008 collection by Stella McCartney will be available in Adidas stores in TriNoma and Rockwell starting this month.

Absolutely captivating

The Haven in Fort Bonifacio Global City was the setting for the launch of Absolut’s newest flavor, Absolut Mango. Models wearing Dita Sandico-Ong’s organic weaves opened the entrance to welcome guests into a virtual rainforest right behind the Fort’s tall skyscrapers. Event director Raymond Villanueva explained: “This is intentional because Absolut is working on the ‘back-to-nature’ theme. The underlying idea is to enjoy the raw pleasures of Nature, to go back to the organic, to celebrate the most basic delights of the planet. Absolut Mango is the distillation of Absolut’s revolution because it is all natural and absolutely no artificial sweetener was used, for instance, in the making of its newest variant.”

Two days earlier, some invitees were treated to cocktail mixes using Absolut Mango such as the signature A.M. drink, a mix of mango-flavored vodka with apple juice, as well as the other captivating variants. Chico Angeles of Sala Bistro and People’s Palace enticed the taste buds further with an array of tempting canapés — decidedly Oriental in flavor and some with mangoes as a key ingredient especially designed to highlight Absolut Mango’s distinct zest.

Maxxium’s Art Hyndman said: “Absolut deems Manila as one of the leading capitals of lifestyle movement in the world. That is why the Manila launch of Absolut Mango is one of the earliest in the world and later becomes one of the creative pegs for the launches in other Asian capitals.”

 The event was hosted by Karen Agustin. Later, aerial dancers and models Evita Bunyi, Donna Clausen, Khaki de los Reyes and Ava Abejar took to the ramp in Sandico-Ong’s components to unveil the latest variant.

 Absolut Mango presents a flavor that has a strong global appeal. It is widely accepted but still perceived as exciting, exotic and different. The new Mango flavor brings Absolut’s line to 11 distinct flavors.
