MANILA, Philippines — Even after repeated questions from Senator Manny Pacquiao, alleged drug money bagman Ronnie Dayan insisted Monday that he did not receive money from drug personalities in the New Bilibid Prison.

Dayan said that although he entered Bilibid numerous times, he did not collect protection money from convicts who claimed in a related probe at the House of Representatives that they gave Sen. Leila De Lima's former driver and lover money for her election campaign.

Pacquiao, citing inconsistencies in Dayan's statements, moved to have him cited for contempt and deained.

Dayan had earlier been cited for contempt by the House for failing to appear at its hearings. The non-government Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption offered a reward of P1 million for his arrest and Dayan was arrested soon after in La Union province. — Video report by Efigenio Toledo IV
