MANILA, Philippines – Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile today clarified that the joint session for canvassing votes for president and vice president will not be a court of inquiry.
In his opening statement, Enrile said while statements from officials of the Commission on Elections and automation partner Smartmatic will be entertained, "hearsays" will not be accepted.
Enirle and Speaker Prospero Nograles suspended the hearing briefly to have the defective sound system fixed.
