Top schools abroad admit ISM graduates

MANILA, Philippines – In a year when admission rates to top colleges and universities plummeted to an all-time low, International School Manila (ISM) is proud to announce that 11 members of the Class of 2016 will be joining some of the world’s most elite universities.

Brown, Columbia, Princeton and U Penn all feature in that list, as do this year’s two most competitive destinations: Harvard and Stanford.

More than 39,000 students applied to Harvard and only 2,037 were admitted – a rate of 5.2 percent. Two of those students come from ISM.

Stanford received 44,000 applications and accepted just 2,063 or 4.7 percent. Three of that number are from ISM’s Class of 2016.

Meanwhile, another ISM student will attend the University of Oxford in England.

As is the case every year, the range of interests and talents in the graduating class is enormous.

ISM students will be matriculating in many other highly competitive colleges, among them Boston College, University of Chicago, Haverford College, Tufts University, UC Berkeley and University of Southern California in the USA, McGill University, University of British Columbia and Toronto in Canada and University College London, Imperial, University of Warwick and University of Bath in the UK.
