MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has alloted P5.5 million for its whole-year round Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) in Bulacan. DOLE Bulacan Field Office head Pedro Fernando Jr. said the SPES is targeting more than 1,000 poor but deserving youths in the province this year who wish to continue and finish their studies. This is in line with the call of Labor Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz for the strengthening of the SPES implementation to bring education further down to the poor but deserving students, Fernando said.
