TESDA recognition spurs school to maintain high quality of IT courses

MANILA, Philippines - Leading information technology (IT) school chain Informatics welcomed the recognition given by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) over the high job acceptance rate of its graduates, particularly those who were awarded TESDA scholarship grants in 2009.

Leo Riingen, Informatics president and managing director, said that the TESDA recognition will further spur them to maintain the high quality of their IT courses to ensure that their graduates are adjudged as competent and qualified to get high-paying positions.

“We are happy to be recognized as the top school to kick-start the IT careers of Filipinos all over the country,” a proud Riingen said.

Riingen said that while they know that their graduates get high chances of getting employed by the leading IT firms and business process outsourcing companies, the revelation made by TESDA director general Joel Villanueva that TESDA technical-vocational grant beneficiaries who studied at Informatics had the highest employability rate among all the IT schools who received the TESDA scholarship vouchers, was a pleasant surprise.

“With TESDA’s Training for Work scholarship program under the leadership of Sec. Joel Villanueva, getting an IT job within a few months after finishing an IT course adds hope to the thousands of unemployed Filipinos. Informatics is looking forward to training more TESDA scholars in the coming days, and providing them with good paying jobs in the booming IT industry,” Riingen said.
