Ex-general handling Cebu COVID crisis

President Duterte’s speech Monday night in which he said Cebu was being overconfident and complacent in handling the coronavirus pandemic elicited different reactions. Some agreed, while others who have seen how decisive the LGUs have responded to the crisis disagreed.

But the more interesting pronouncement by the president was when he assigned retired general Roy Cimatu to oversee the situation in Cebu. In the words of a netizen: “Here comes a former general-turned-DENR secretary now trying to solve a medical problem.”
